Duffy Named RAGBRAI® Co-Host

Des Moines Register Editor Dennis Ryerson has named Brian Duffy, editorial cartoonist, as RAGBRAI® co-host. Duffy joins John Karras, one of the founders of the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. Both will act as spokespeople for the event, and will provide pertinent information and updates to riders before, during and following the event. Karras will continue to write articles and Duffy will provide editorial cartoons with a RAGBRAI theme.

RAGBRAI XXVIII will take place July 23 through 29, 2000. This year's route will be announced Saturday, February 5, in The Des Moines Register and on the following web sites: ragbrai.org and DesMoinesRegister.com.

RAGBRAI is sponsored and organized by The Des Moines Register. Some 10,000 riders from across the country and around the world participate each year. Proceeds from the ride are distributed to RAGBRAI host communities and through the Register's Community Investment Program to programs and projects reflecting our investment priorities.
